Is GSA's free SRP enough?
GSA's Sales Reporting Portal validates your TDR file's format and, under Refresh 31, will hard-reject bad fields. That catches typos. It doesn't catch the things that decide your standing when an Industrial Operations Analyst reviews you. Here's the line.
The format layer
What the free SRP checks
- ✓ Required fields present and correctly typed
- ✓ Manufacturer name, part number, unit of measure, and unit price against your catalog
- ✓ Pipe-delimited file format is valid
- ✓ Hard-rejects malformed lines (after the acclimation period)
- ✓ Auto-calculates the IFF owed on what you reported
Result: your file is accepted.
The compliance layer
What it doesn't — but an IOA does
- → Whether your IFF math is actually right for each period
- → TAA and country-of-origin compliance on each line
- → The $100K / $125K sales thresholds and SIN mapping
- → FAR / GSAM clause applicability to your contract
- → Modification status and Mass Mod acceptance
- → A defensible audit trail across reporting periods
Result: whether you're actually compliant.
The SRP tells you your file will be accepted. It doesn't tell you you're compliant.
